Calling to be a BPO Agent
Kim is a new real estate agent in New Jersey.
She completed her real estate exams and joined a brokerage recently.
She spent around $350 for her 75-hour real estate pre-license course.
She spent $90 on real estate licenses for the exam as it took her more than one try to pass the exams.
She has to spend money on fingerprinting. $160 is the state requirement.
Then, she has to pay NAR fees of $150 and an online course to become a realtor.
She pays for Errors and omissions at around $450.00/year.
Real estate broker fees are around $50 a month.
And she has to get one MLS for $250 and another MLS for $300.
So far, she hasn’t made a single dollar.
Kim gets some training from her brokerage office; they asked her to sponsor open houses and teach her how to pull comps with CMA.
She can become a buyers agent, but things are going very slowly.
So one of her friend’s colleagues suggested she apply for a broker’s price opinion BPOs. She registered for a few companies, and fast forward 6-8 months, she can do ten BPOs a month. She earns $450/monthly, not much, but the expenses are taken care of.
